Kollam: The newly constructed Multi-Level Car Parking (MLCP) facility at Kollam Junction Railway Station, developed as part of the ongoing Kollam Station Redevelopment Project, will be formally inaugurated on 14th February 2026.
The facility will be inaugurated by the Union Minister of State, Shri Suresh Gopi, in the presence of Shri N K Premachandran, MP; elected representatives, passengers and members of the general public.
Constructed at a cost of less than ₹30 Crores, the MLCP is a five-storey reinforced concrete building built on a strong foundation, having a total built-up area of approximately 11,450 square metres. The facility is equipped with advanced safety and passenger-friendly features and is strategically located near Puthiyakavu Temple, with quick access to the highway and adjacent to the railway station. The facility ensures seamless and convenient access for all users.
The new parking complex provides capacity for over 200 two-wheelers and more than 130 four-wheelers at any time, significantly improving organised parking facilities at Kollam Junction.
This modern facility forms an integral part of the fast-progressing redevelopment works at Kollam Junction, aimed at enhancing passenger amenities, easing congestion, and upgrading infrastructure to meet the growing needs of passengers and daily commuters.
